Newberry Moose Lodge

By Nicole Foster

It’s the most wonderful time of the year at the Newberry Moose Lodge #2211! Every year we take on a special community project at Christmas to help those in need. This year we were blessed enough to participate in three! For the first project, we held a toy drive at the lodge, then joined together with the Newberry Jaycees and provided a toy and a hot lunch to 23 children and their families. On our second project, we were blessed to receive a donation from NaturChem employees. Between that donation and our members’ generosity, we raised over $600 to purchase and donate toys to the Newberry County Sherriff’s office for the underprivileged children in our county. Our third project was preparing and delivering meals to homebound seniors in Newberry. Over 60 Christmas meals were home-cooked, prepared, and delivered by members of Newberry Moose Lodge. Not only did this provide a needed meal but brought Christmas joy to some of our most vulnerable citizens. It was with the love and compassion of every member of the Newberry Moose Lodge and our community partners that allowed us to bring joy and cheer to those who might otherwise go without this Christmas season. It is the hope and desire of Newberry Moose Lodge to represent the heart of our community and inspire others to volunteer with us, another organization, or with friends and families to remind those in need that they are cared for and valued by all of us in Newberry.
