Keeping Newberry Beautiful!

Updated: Aug 25, 2023

Upcoming Community Event!

By Crista Lukoski

We are excited to present the 2nd Annual Keep Newberry Beautiful Summer Fair on August 24-27, 2023. This year the fair will be hosted by the Town of Prosperity located at 250 School Dr. behind the Administrative building.

This old-fashioned family event will encompass a variety of things to do and see. We will have quality amusement rides including The Century Wheel which has over 3000 lights and offers great views, Cliff Hanger is the closest thing to being Superman that lets you soar 30 ft over the ground, Club Scene, a disco-themed fun house, Pharaohs Fury is the Arc that takes 48-60 screaming passengers swinging back and forth. Zero Gravity is a spaceship that uses centrifugal force to spin you in the air at 80 degrees. (Not for people with weak stomachs).

For the kiddies there will be the Crazy Sub, Flying Elephants, the Puppy Roll takes them on a giant turntable, a HUGE Super Slide, and the Orient Express, kids kids-size roller coaster, there will be a Petting Zoo, face painting, and MORE!

Did we mention Food? We can’t have a proper fair without delicious treats, including Fried Oreos, Funnel Cakes, and Italian Ice. (We won’t mention Diet this weekend). We have over 12 food trucks with a variety of flavors for you to try. Once your tummy is satisfied, visit our vendors for some retail therapy and your local community booths to learn about their businesses, or try your skills to win fun prizes at the games.

For your musical pleasure, we have a great lineup of bands to play throughout the 4 days. The Headliners include Cash Money Experience on Thursday, Brendan Roberts Band on Friday, the Killer Beez Band on Saturday, and Chris Reed and the Bad Kids on Sunday. We have many other local talents, including Five on Fire, Blackbeard’s Truck, JD Boatwright, and Mark Jones.

This year we will also have a Huge Tented Beer Garden offering multiple popular brands on tap. Beer Garden is 21 and older (must have ID).

The Fair is brought to you by Keep Newberry County Beautiful (KNCB), a division of the

Newberry Soil and Water Conservation District and an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. The proceeds from the event will be used to fund beautification projects, scholarships, educational programs, and community litter cleanup supplies for Newberry County. KNCB is run by a board of Volunteers. The mission of KNCB is community greening, waste reduction, and recycling. Through partnerships and strategic alliances with citizens, businesses, and government, Keep Newberry County Beautiful motivates volunteers to clean up, beautify, and improve their neighborhoods, thereby creating healthier, safer, and more livable community environments.

We will offer discounted tickets for Armbands for ALL DAY Rides through August 23. You can purchase those online or at the USDA building, 719 Kendall Rd. in Newberry. Ride bands are $20 in advance. Armbands at the gate are $20 for Thursday, $25 for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Arm Bands are good for 1 day only.

Fair Hours, Music schedule, and other programs we offer can be found at keepnewberrybeautiful.com or see us on Facebook and Instagram. If you would like to host a cleanup, volunteer for the fair, or participate in other events, contact Crista Lukoski, the Executive Director at 803-597-3160.
