Celebrating 25 Seasons of Glorious Success: A Grand Opening for an Epic Year!

Newberry Opera House is preparing to celebrate a momentous occasion—its 25th season. With a rich history spanning a quarter-century, the Opera House has become synonymous with exceptional performances and has earned a well-deserved reputation as a premier venue for the arts.


Since its grand opening in 1998, Newberry Opera House has consistently showcased a diverse range of artistic talent, captivating audiences from near and far. The 25th season promises to be no exception, offering a stellar lineup of performances that will undoubtedly leave lasting impressions on audience members.


Kicking off the season on August 10 is the boldly unique funk Rock band, Mothers Finest. This band is known for defying boundaries and creating their own genre. On October 14th, Bluegrass enthusiasts will rejoice when The SteelDrivers return to the Opera House stage! The SteelDrivers started off as a casual jam session over a decade ago, and they have since become one of today’s leaders in the Americana/Bluegrass music world. Their performance at Newberry Opera House promises to be an evening filled with the band’s early hits as well as songs from their chart-topping album from 2020, “Bad For You”.

Trey McLaughlin & The Sounds of Zamar (SOZ) has been wowing audiences with their powerhouse vocals and uplifting messages of hope and faith, and they’ll be doing it again at NOH on November 9. Contemporary Gospel, musical theater, and original compositions are fused together by Trey and the SOZ to create a spectacular, robust atmosphere. This group’s music has been a major success all over the world since they released their first project, “Limitless” in 2012.The holiday season is best spent in Newberry, and at NOH.


The much-anticipated Christmas lineup includes “Celtic Angels Christmas”, Three on a String’s “Home for the Holidays”, “Wilson Family Christmas”, “Nutcracker”, “Masters of Soul: Motown Christmas”, and a “Christmas Carol”. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

As the 25th season continues into the new year, the Opera House shows no signs of slowing down. From lassical music to dance, theater, and more, the venue remains committed to providing a diverse and captivating array of performances that cater to a wide range of artistic tastes.


On January 29, Opera fans will be amazed by Teatro Lirico D’Europa’s “Rossini’s Barber of Seville” on January 29. The illustrious Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra will deliver musical excellence January 28, and to close our season in May 2024, Jessica Vosk will sweep everyone away with her powerful vocals and presence. Musical theater lovers will be swept away by the powerful voice of Jessica Vosk (known for portraying Elphaba in “Wicked” on Broadway) in May 2024.


Anticipation and excitement fill the air as the curtains rise on the 25th season of Newberry Opera House. It is a time to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to a future filled with many more remarkable performances.
