Cat's Paws Rescue

By: Paige Derrick

Cat’s Paw Rescue South Carolina is a non-profit 501(3)(c) organization located in Prosperity and Chester, SC. Our mission is to save as many feline lives as possible through rescue, trap-neuter-release (TNR), foster care, transport, and adoption. This allows these precious cats and kittens to survive, thrive, and find their own loving homes.

Our rescue saves cats from newborns to seniors and solely operates off of donations, grants, and volunteer support. We partner with several other groups and businesses who help us as well, including PetCare of Newberry, Triangle Veterinary Clinic, SnipWell, Pawmetto Lifeline, Feral Cat Solutions of Chapin, Inc, Ninth Life Cat Rescue, and Tammy’s Cats for Adoption (both in Canada), Percy’s Pet Services, LLC, the Newberry County Humane Society, and Newberry Animal Care and Control. These organizations assist us in a variety of ways, from providing veterinary care and spay/neuter surgeries to helping with the TNR of community cats throughout our county.

To give a little insight into our rescue, here is George’s story. George was found injured in Newberry, SC, and our rescue took him to the vet, where it was discovered that he had been shot with a BB gun. George received medical treatment, tender loving care from his foster mom, and was recently adopted into his own new loving home.

Got mice? Consider using all-natural pest control. Our rescue also has “working” cats available through our BARN CAT PROGRAM. These cats are healthy, sterilized, vaccinated, and in dire need of a new outdoor home.

How can you help? FOSTER, VOLUNTEER, SPONSOR, and ADOPT!

We recently purchased two cat cabin foster sheds. This was done and is being paid for and maintained through donations only. We are currently seeking monetary donations to assist with finishing the sheds and medical care for our resident cats and kittens while they wait for their forever homes.

The following businesses are local and will gladly accept donations for us of wet or dry food, clumping litter, and cleaning supplies such as Clorox, disinfectant, and paper towels. You can drop items off at Pieces of Time East on Main Street in Newberry and Modern Companion Pet Boutique on Old Lexington Hwy. in Chapin. We also accept monetary donations and they can be mailed to Cat’s Paw Rescue SC, c/o Paige Derrick, P.O. Box 573, Prosperity, SC 29127 or 529 Pall Mall Road, Chester, SC 29706.

We also offer donation sponsorships in Gold, Silver, and Bronze, if you would like to become a monthly sponsor or a one-time donor. You can designate where you would like your donation to go by denoting medical spay/neuter fund, transport, building, or general fund. Please mark where you wish for your donation to be applied.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, volunteer, foster, feral colony caretaker, grant writer, or adopting a new furry friend, you can contact us at www. CatsPawRescueSC.org. Also, follow us on Facebook (@CatsPawRescueSC) for updates on our adoption events, fundraisers, and workshops!

As always, thank YOU for joining us for the JOURNEY!

This “rescue” had their animals seized because of their horrific conditions.

They have many animals unaccounted for that have disappeared.
