Don’t miss the final phase of Brick sales, Monday, March 20 – Friday, April 21
Columbia, SC -- The Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board announces the final phase of brick sales at the “Welcome to Lake Murray” destination landmark located at the Lake Murray Dam at Highway 6 and 60. Residents and visitors are invited to buy a brick and be a part of this historic project and leave a lasting legacy at Lake Murray.
"Your engraved brick will serve as a permanent and lasting memory in this community and the signage will help welcome the 1 million+ visitors that visit this region each year," said Miriam Atria, President & CEO of the Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board (CCLMC).
It has taken countless years and significant effort by community stakeholders to bring the Lake Murray Destination Landmark to life. CCLMC is grateful to community partners: Dominion Energy, SCDOT, AOS Specialty Contractors, Magna Sign International, Everette Cashion, Stewart Mungo, and Chao and Associates for helping make the destination landmark project a reality. The CCLMC board thanked the South Carolina State dignitaries, community organizations, and all of the families that purchased bricks (Spring 2022) in support of the project at the ribbon cutting held, on November 3, 2022. This second phase of brick sales will bring the project that began so many years ago to a conclusion. Funds raised from brick sales support the maintenance and ensure the sustainability of the landmark.
